Waaaaay-way back n the ’80s I grew up playing with D&D with my classmates but for those who were never interested or had the privilege, here’s an excerpt from Wikipedia.com:
Bards use their artistic talents to induce magical effects.[2] The class is loosely based on the special magic that music holds in stories such as the Pied Piper of Hamelin,[2] and in earlier versions was much more akin to being a CelticFili or a Norse Skald, although these elements have largely been removed in later editions. At the conclusion of “Black Panther” #1, T’Challa travels to Necropolis, Wakanda’s City of the Dead, where the previous Black Panthers are laid to rest. There, he descends into a hidden lab, where he has Shuri in stasis. The final panel shows him standing before some complex equipment as well as a screen that reads, “Resurrection Failure.”
Shuri first appeared in Reginald Hudlin and John Romita Jr.’s “Black Panther” #2 in 2005. She succeeded T’Challa as Black Panther when Morlun attempted to destroy Wakanda in its king’s absence. T’Challa left Shuri as acting ruling of Wakanda in order to defeat Doctor Doom, who also tried to take over Wakanda. She remained as such until her death.
Shuri was killed in battle shortly before the events of “Secret Wars.” Black Panther attempted to save his Earth by unleashing the Cabal to destroy an alternate Earth, but they took over Wakanda in the wake of the Incursion, slaughtering citizens as they went. Shuri attempted to save her people, only to be killed by the invading forces. As such, it seems as though Black Panther’s remorse over her death drives his quest to resurrect her.

Ramonda was a woman from South Africa who won the heart of T’Chaka King of Wakanda after his previous wife N’Yami died giving birth to Prince T’Challa. She was surrogate mother to Hunter and T’Challa and with T’Chaka produced a daughter named Shuri. After his father died T’Challa believed Ramonda left Wakanda to be with another man though it turned out she was being held hostage. When T’Challa found out he freed her and welcomed her back to Wakanda.
Ramonda, was the former Queen of Wakanda, wife to T’Chaka the King, surrogate mother T’Challa and mother to Princess Shuri.

AJA NAOMI KING (“How To Get Away With Murder“) is a Los Angeles native who attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and recently appeared in Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation.”
Aja appeared in several short films before landing guest roles on the CBS procedurals Blue Bloods and Person of Interest. Her big break came in 2012 when she was cast as new surgical intern Cassandra Kopelson on the CW drama Emily Owens, M.D. The series was canceled after a single season in 2013. She later starred in the Amazon Studios comedy pilot The Onion Presents: The News. King also played Wendell Pierce’s daughter Abigayle in the independent film Four, released on September 13, 2013. Along with her castmates, she won a Los Angeles Film Festival Award for her role in this movie.
In 2014, King had a recurring role in the ABC drama series Black Box, and was later cast as one of the leads in the Shonda Rhimes’ legal thriller How to Get Away with Murder.
Spotted publicly with actor Chad Boseman, there has been speculation in social media circles in connection with Aja potentially joining the cast of #BPSoLIT2018 as Princess Shuri, King T’Challa the Black Panther’s hot-headed little sister. No way.

While Aja is alluring and quite talented, she is also definitively American and does not possess the prerequisite frame to portray a member of the Wakandan family. In the Marvel Universe, Black Panthers of Wakanda are the pinnacle of human conditioning from extensive mental and physical training from birth as well as benefactors to elite royal eugenics. Once initiated, the mysteriously mystical Wakandan (#HSH) heart-shaped herb annually raises their physical attributes well beyond “peak human conditioning.”
King could however fit into an already super-powered cast that includes Florence Kasuumba, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Andy Serkis, Justice Winston, Daniel Kaluuya, C. Boseman and (Ptah) Academy Award-winner Forest Whitaker — IF — Joe Robert Cole, Nate Moore and Ryan Coogler choose to explore King T’Challa’s romantic relationship with a certain Georgia Peach.
Monica Lynne is an American entertainer/performer/singer who was T’Challa’s primary love interest since the 1970’s (in terms of comic book publication dates). The two were actually engaged to be married, but Panther called it off abruptly and without explanation. Circumstances continued to pull them together, much to Monica’s chagrin, and they maintained a strained but respectful friendship for years.
She’s an important figure in Black Panther history and wouldn’t necessarily require beacoup screen time. Thoughts?
